How to Enable Two-Factor Authentication on Your Obiex Wallet

2FA stands for two-factor authentication. 2FA adds an extra level of security to your Obiex account, ensuring that no one else can access it.

Note: Never share your 2FA (2-Factor Authentication) security codes or passwords. Staff from Obiex will never ask you to reveal sensitive authentication credentials.

How does 2FA work?

When 2FA is enabled on your account, you will be asked to provide more than just your password when attempting to log in. A unique code will be required to ensure that you are the one attempting to access your account. This means that your account will remain secure even if your password is exposed.

Note: You must ensure to keep your recovery phrase safe because it will be required when you want to re-enable your 2FA after a device reset or change.

How to Enable 2FA on The Mobile App

1. Log in to your Obiex account
2. Select “More”
3. Select “Settings”
4. Select “Turn on 2FA”
5. Select “Enable 2FA”
6. Select “Get Code”, and a code will be sent to your registered email address.
7. Input the code and select  “Continue.”
8.  Your secret recovery phase will be displayed; Copy it and also keep it safe; it is very important. Select “Continue”
9. Paste your recovery phrase and select “Continue.”
10. Download Google Authenticator on your mobile device
11. Copy your secret code from Obiex app and paste it into the setup key on Google authenticator and select “Add”.
12. A 2FA code will b created; copy and paste it into “2FA Code”
13. Select “Enable 2FA.”
14. You’ll receive a confirmation.

How to activate 2FA on the web app

1. 1. Go to Obiex.com and Login by inputting your registered email and password.
   2. Select “Account”, then select “Security.”
   3. Select the Two-Factor Authentication slide
   4. 6 digit security code will be sent to your mail; input the code and select “Enable 2FA”
   5. Your secret recovery phase will be displayed; Copy it and also keep it safe; it is very important. Select “Continue”
   6. Paste your recovery phrase and select “Continue.”
   7. Download Google Authenticator on your mobile device
   8. Scan the QR code using Google Authenticator on your mobile device.
   9. Google Authenticator generate a 2FA code for your account, input the code and select “Submit”
   10. A confirmation message will be sent to you.
